I have worked on a few of the 82's to say GM did not have all the bugs worked out of the TBI would be an understatement. I think everyone at the dealership was glad when those things where out of warranty. They where almost as bad as those 1.8 Cavaliers. I am not saying not to buy the 82. I am saying the chances its a easy fix are slim. And finding someone that knows their way around that injection system will be tuff. Also when car sits for six years you should plan on rebuilding or replacing entire brake system.

I will try and get some more information on it if you are interested.

I dont want to give him anything that he can show off in, i dont want his messing around and wrapping it around a tree. I talked to a local mechanic and he said it would be about $60 to fix the mutliport. So the Z is sounding like a great deal, and its adding another classic to our family! In the end do you guys think the Z would be a decent DD (other than gas prices and consumption i know..) for him? Considering its only $1,000 to buy it and about $60 for the mutiport and tires?
