well about all your going to be able to do is check the fliud level. Have you done a service on it? What was the fluid like? What is it like now?

My '91 was doing the same thing, until finally, it stopped moving forward at all. Are you leaking fluid at a ridiculous rate? That was the first thing that happened with mine. It started taking longer and longer to get into gear, until all it would do was go into reverse. About six months before this started happening, I had some problems so I took it to a tranny shop that a friend recommended (bad idea) and they replaced my torque converter and flywheel. My flywheel had been cracked.

Mine's been parked for 2 years, but I called my mechanic yesterday about getting it fixed. I'll let you know whatever I find out.

sounds like the clutch pack! is the fluid dark colored and smells burnt? if it was just not going into to O.D. or fourth I,d say it was the converter, because of the lock/up it has an extra set of splines on the front shaft for it,s overdrive. There,s a great shop in florida where you can special order a new trans, and get the corvette servo,s and a 1500-2000 rpm stall converter, they even send you the cd of the build, alittle spendy about $1,500 hundred but hey you gotta get them horsies to the wheels. i will try and send you a copy of the cd of my build. Do you have anny warrenty? Take it back! If it comes down to it contact the BAR BBB Comsumer affairs.
And watch those trannys out of florida! I had a customer that got one from some place in florida. (and I am in California) The guy adverstised all types of performance parts inside his trannys. Well the thing would not move after installation. My customer called him and after he tried every excuse to blame it on me (the customer knew better) he finnaly told him he may have sent the wrong conveter which it turn out to be that. I took the trans out and thoughtit would be best to take it to my tranny shop and check it out. It had no performance parts inside and had damaged parts inside.
