5 speed help

Default 5 speed help

i read alot of stuff saying the 5 speeds cant hold up to the power of the engine and so say they can.
i want to swap my auto in my iroc to 5 speed.
so i wanna know how much power i can go with or should i go find a 6 speed.

Well the rule of thumb that I've heard from this forum is try not to put much more then 300Hp with the T-5 tranny. If you're willing to wait look for the T-56 which can handle around 450Hp

ive got roughly 360 horse going to my t-5. holds up fine as long as you arent doing stupid stuff. But only time will tell how well it holds up, only put about 15k on this tranny since the 350 swap.

just as a guess, id say about 390 tq... just a guess though.
