5.7 tpi to a lt-1

Default 5.7 tpi to a lt-1

will a lt-1 motor from a 1994 pontic firebird work in a 1989 camaro.if so what changes will i have to make. i also have the transmission with the lt-1.

Shouldnt need anything but the wiring and computer unless you have a tuning set up, other than that if you plan on running ac ive heard of having to relocate the compressor due to clearance issues, maybe a crossmember for the tranny or modify the one u have

you will need aftermarket gauges for tach, oil pressure, temps, and whatever else you may need. your speedo should be cable driven and wont need to be replaced as well. you could repin the wiring harness and redo it to use the factory gauges, but its faster and cheaper to run aftermarket. as for the physical fit, it is a direct bolt in. you may have to make some coolant hoses to plumb it as well as fuel lines, and the entire ecm and wiring from the lt1 donor. that should be most of the major things

its not impossible to do. someone had a car in camaro performers, it was originally an lt1 and they swapped over the front end and i think an ls1 or ls2 and used the factory gauges
