Default 5.0? 5.7? badges?

I am a little confused about what decides the liter of the engine. Are most 350's 5.7s or is more to do with the fuel system itself? the reason I am asking is that my car has 5.0 H.O. badges but I have a crate 350 motor in it and if I have a 5.7 then I would like to get 5.7 badges (emblems, whichever they are called)

Also does anyone have a good site to go to to get camaro badges? I could google it but dont know which are trustworthy with good quality products with great prices.

Thumbs down

Never changed the Badges on my car.. The Vin says 305 TPI and so are the Badges. Unless you installed the 350 yourself the swap is in question. Myself, I have documents & invoices for all the parts and work done on my carr including the dyno results for the 350 swap and it is the size of small book. Anyways what do the 5.7 badges prove unless it was factory stock.

I ordered and built up the engine in my car so I know for sure it is a 350. I am not really trying to prove anything, but if I have a 5.7L engine then I want 5.7 badges. just like I removed the tpi one on the dash. It's a personal preference.
So are all 350's 5.7's or not and what determines the liters designation on the engine?

Yes, all 350's are 5.7's. It's the volume of the cylinders that designates how many liters the engine is, hence the use of "liters." 350 cubic inches roughly equals 5.7 liters.

come on black, you should know by now that those 5.7 badges are worth at least 20 more ponies.

actually when you are going from a 190 hp 305 to a 280hp 350 it is a 90 hp gain. It's not like I am some stupid ricer throwing NOS stickers on my car when I dont even have NOS. I dont see the problem taking off a 5.0 badge and putting on a 5.7 when I worked hard putting it in.

I guess you are correct, if I put the 5.7 Tuneport Injection badges on my car it would add more Horsepower.

does your car just say tuned port or does it Does it say "5.0 Liter H.0." like mine does? because if it doesnt already have the 5.0 badge on it then there is a big difference in what I am asking.

the only way what you guys are saying makes sense is if I left the 305 in my car and just wanted to add a 5.7 badge "to look cool". The fact is I spent upwards of 4,000 dollars building the 350 that I put in my car on my own and I am quite proud of it considering it is the first time I have taken on a project this big. Therefore if I have a 5.0 badge on my car and I have a 5.7 liter engine sitting in my engine compartment then I would prefer the badge to match what I have not what I had. And thanks to HELPFUL people like Jr. Mechanic I now know that all 350s are 5.7 I will get the badge that matches it.

ya gotta take black with a grain of salt, or just ignore him.

but as for the 5.0 and 5.7. like JR ( i just thought of Indiana Jones.. lol) said, all 350's are designated 5.7 by GM. the 5.0 is the 305. They did, however, have a 302 back in the day that was also a 5.0. And they consider the LS1 a 5.7 even thought the CUID is 347 i think, or 348. Its just a rough area, not really to scientific.

I was like you though, i was gonna find a set of 5.7 Tuned Port badges for mine, but decided against it because im gonna try and get rid of all the badges for a nice clean look. Besides, i dont even have a motor that these cars used now. lol
