Default 3rd Gen R4 to Sanden Conversion

So the first thing to fix up is the A/C - the R4 in it is shot and it needs a R12-134a conversion anyway. The R4's are notoriously crap so I'm going to go with a Sanden SD7. As far as I can tell I'm going to need a mounting bracket and a back-plate so I don't have to reroute the lines. With summer winding down it's a little late to wish for cold a/c but in Texas we only have two degrees - hot, and less hot.

If anyone has part numbers for the brackets/backplate that would save me some time, much appreciated. Same goes if you've done this before and have any tips. I'll try to post pics as I go or just post all of them when I'm done in case anyone else tries the same.

Has anyone upgraded/swapped out/modified the a/c panel on the inside? I know the originalists will kill me but I'm all for better equipment when possible. Nothing wrong with the old one - just a thought.

Also, there are no cup holders in this car - lottsa flat surfaces though. Ahh the 80s....

you could look for a later model serp belt assembly that might use the sanden, or buy a swap setup from vintage air or another company that makes accessory setups. as for the controls, have fun. it is possible to swap a 4th gen dash into a third gen
