3rd Gen Packages.....
Hi Ive been looking at buying a 3rd Gen Camaro lately. I like the body style but don't really know much about the different packages ( IROC, Z28, RS, etc.) And I know that I want a manual trans with a V8 but don't really know which models came with this combination. Could someone please list the packages from worst to best, and tell what engine/trans combos were available for each......
Thanks

If you're looking for a manual trans and V8 there's only one one engine/trans combo from the factory for the 3rd gens. 305 V8 with the T5. Unfortuantely, the 305 isn't the most reliable or powerful engine and the T5 won't last long behind a 350, hence why the 350s all came with autos.

What about swapping with the engine/trans from an early 4th gen Camaro (93-96)....they have 350's with 6speeds correct?
As much as I love my LT1 (93-97), it would be more cost effective find an LSx and a 6 speed and swap that in. There are more parts avaible for the Gen III/IV than there is for the Gen II.
But if you really wanted to go nuts, shove a big block in it.
