Default 396ci in a 1986 camaro!!!!

so.....yea..... what you think of putting a 396 in a 86 chevy camaro. how much of work do u think that would be? its kinda need idea i think. but i just want some opinions about it. i know alot of work im sure but hey if your that much of a car nerd you should be able to do it eh

Why go through all that work for a 396" big block, when you can just drop in a 402" small block and make the same power with less weight. If you going to use a big block, make sure it is big on the inside as well as on the outside. A 500" big block will be more like it.

Sounds good. I have a pre 86 350 I'd like to put in my 88 but dont have the time/ money for conversions and workings. Too bad it would be a classic spin on the car instead of the TPI 350's you see in em. I'd love to have that element of a 69 under the hood of my 88...[:'(]
