Default 350 swap

Hey guys, right now i've got the 305 tbi engine in my 92 rs, and i can get a 350 for under $900(pretty good) from a friend. specs on the engine is its from a '72 car, ithas about 250 miles!, with about 270hp and its carb. Well my question is if i did this swap what would be campatible from my car now and/or what would i have to switch since its a 350 and carb.and how much i am lookin to spend for anything id have to do to get it to work with my car. Thanks in advance for any help.

The only thing on you motor that would work are the accesories. You will need a non computer controled distriuter and could regulate your fuel pump down to 7 psi. You exhaust will also bolt up.

If you are going to carb it will be non computerized. So no computer. You can use the in tank pump but will need to regulate it from 14 psi to 7 psi. Your trans will bolt up. If you have an automatic then you will need a controler for the TCC. You can get all that stuff from www.Summitracing.com
You could get a TBI manifold that will bolt to the motor you are installing. (your stock intake wont work because the center bolts on it are at a different angle) and use your TB and distributer and everything. Eventualy you would want to put in 350 or 454 injectors and computer and ESC but your stock stuff will work. Just not the manifold (unless you want to drill out the center holes to match)

You wont need the computer but you will need a distributer. The computer may not work your old distributer properly with out the Throttle Body.

You can buy a kit for 60 bucks that will let you control what temperature you want your car to run at. You turn a little blue dial to the # you want and put the temp gauge in the manifold. It's a completely seperate unit from the computer, if you have one. It works perfect.

You'll no doubt be happy with the 350 but on another note I would recommend putting in subframe connectors. I put some on after I dropped in a 350 and I think along with new springs and shocks they made a huge difference in the ride. Good luck!
