Default 325Hp 305

I know there is another thread about this but i didnt want to hijack it...
well anyway here is the site: http://www.goingfaster.com/spo/325_h...chevrolet.html

Their motor is carb'd where mine will be fuel injected...have the 85 LB9 v8, 215hp@4400 rpm, 275lb torque @3200...

Well in the build they use a new manifold and carb, since I am FI would a new intake do me any good? And would the Cam and The Vortec heads still work with my set up? I know the 350 is more economical ive had this debate before but i want to stay with the 305...Lets say i got the cam and heads in the article, new intake, and headers, what kind of numbers am i looking at? I already have dual cat back w/ flowmaster 40's

Thanks!

the vortec heads NEED a vortec style intake manifold, they bolt up differently, and i THINK the angle is slightly different, but i dont know for sure. But if you can find a FI intake thats vortec, it would work perfectly.

u gotta get the headers and y pipe first before anything. And with headers and y pipe, cam, heads, intake your lookin at around a 75-80 hp increase.

That manifold will work fine if you going to use TPI. You may want to see if bigger runners are available for the manifold, and also a larger plenum. The Vortec heads and cam will work OK, but as mentioned in the article, the power band will move up so you should get some fatter rear end gears. The headers and exhaust will definitely help. Also, there is going to be a lot FI and spark timing tuning required. This should be left to a dyno tuning facility. Look to spend $ 500 + for that service.

Damn...that just shot that idea down...I really want some more power for this summer, but the 350 swap will take too long and then the parts AND tuning, wont be making enough...dont really want nitrous dont know if the motor will handle it...

EDIT: for the hell of it what kinda gears would i need? Right now i have 3.23s posi

i personally wouldnt go ANY lower than 3.73. Any lower and your just makin more "torque" we will call it... just spins and dosent wanna go. To light of a car, not big enough rear tires.
