Default 305 verses 350

this may sound dumb, but if I can swap the heads, headers and manifold between the 305 and 350, why cant I just treat the 305 like a 350 and have it bored like a 350? thin walls? or is it just a stroke issue? I am just wondering. I will soon be building a 383 stroker from a 350 and plan on looking into this then if I get no ansers that make sense.
