Default 305 question

is the 305 in a z28 different than a 305 in a regular camaro? i have a z28 5.0 h. o. badge on my 87 z28 and i think i read somewhere that there is a year where there wasnt much difference between a regular 305 and a high output 305

86 was the last year for H.O. 305. In 87 TPI took over, and just the base 305 carb. The H.O. had higher compression (9.5:1 instead of 8.6) anda different cam profile. Also a dual snorkle air cleaner. Or the PO could have installed a HO 350 kit, GMPP # 10185077

No...All it means is the Z28 had 170HP Carb LG4 vs 165HP Carb LG4 in other 1987 models. Most 1987 Models were built in 1986.
