305 to a LS1

I would love to see this project but i would agree with C4 on this one. Your going to need at least a 12 bolt out back to take the power and a good transmission to get it there. You will also need a lot of wiring and fab work. This would be a major project.

the 10 bolt will hold up to a stock ls1. it holds up in worked 4th gens, it will be fine for the third gen. i knew someone from school, planted a stock ls1 into his 86 'bird with 700r4. everything was stock, not even intake or exhaust, and it ran 13.5 at the track with stock tires. the 10 bolt will hold up to an lsi, just dont neutral drop it or punch the gas over a jump or something dumb like that, and it will hold up fine. ive seen 383's powering a stock open 10 bolt without issues. you wont need to do much custom fab, there are swap kits offered. check on jegs or summit, and i think slp makes one too
the ls1 would be a better choice over the 350 or 383, more fuel economy and power, and a much added wow factor

LS1 SWAP all the way!
Its easy, if its not your daily driver, allow 2-4 weeks though!
