what are your engine temps? did you reroute the fuel lines when you replaced the intake? sounds like it could also be vapor lock

^ no i dident reroute the fuel lines.

Since i dont have the coolant temp sensor pluged in, dosent that mean that that has to be the problem?

im really doubting thats the issue. if the sensor is bad or unplugged, the ecm will read -40 degrees. im only assuming you dont have a computer controlled carb. if you did, it would just run rich and would have a high idle all the time. im not sure what the long term effects of that would lead to, but i dont think that will cause it to shut off. do you have a working oil pressure gauge?

Your car used to be fuel injection with a high pressure electric fuel pump in the tank. Now that it has a carb, what type of fuel delivery do you have...mechanical fuel pump (was the in-tank pump removed or not), or the electric pump with a pressure regulator?

Well i dont mean to bust yalls bubble but ik what fixed mine wither you thank so or not.Just throwing it out there just like yall, but im with eletric fuel pump on a swaped to carb car aswell it would cause way to much psi for a carb set up.But i still thank the CTS could be the issue aswell seeing i had it and it fixed it after a shyt ton of money and parts a free CTS fixed it right up.

and you also had a completely different engine, one that would cause the engine to shut down if it was reading hot.

I say we let him change the cts first, they are cheap anyways, all the parts stores have them. Secondly we really need to know when the problem started, what was the last thing he did to car just before this problem started. Did it start right after he swapped from TPI to carb or what?

Still no answer from him yet about what if anything was changed to the fuel supply to accommodate the carb? He would be flooding out if the electric pump was left in tact without dropping pressure.

I think if stock pump is working he must have regulated it down,I don't think floats would hold 35psi and gas would just spray out carb, New temp switch is only 12 bucks. Still need to know when original problem started. Boosted has good point about ecm if it started right after he did carb swap and didn't think he needed all the sensors. Never said wether his gauges worked or not
