305 Cam again...

So I came across a good deal on a cam set that includes the springs and all that good ****...just need to know if this is gonna work well with my 305...here's the specs...
HYDRAULIC-Excellent response, good mid-range, noticeable idle.

Is this cam too big for my 305?? Everything is stock with the heads all I'm using is just headers and a new intake and carb. Do I need to downsize this cam or is it ok?

that cam should be fine. i called up comp cams the other week and asked them some questions about which cam would be best for my car, i also have a 305, and that is the same one they recomened for me. however you will need to upgrade your computer chip. if you really want to make sure just give comp cams a call and theyll help you out. also i asked them how much horse i should gain from this cam and a new chip and they said anywhere from 15-25.
hey man i gotta say nice car, i ALMOST BOUGHT the exact same car as you. but i settled for a 1992 rs with 73000 red with red interior with the tbi and 5 speed without t-tops.
i was just coming on here to look at a camshaft/lifters kit and was looking at an edelbrock performer rpm or an lt1 cam.
i too was wondering that. but if you go to summitracing.com they narrow your search and give you the right cams.

is yours 5 speed cuz mine is. the only mods i did was 2.5 cat back exhaust. i did the ultimate tbi mod from thirdgen.org, a new chip, new clutch and thats it soo far. im lookin at a cam and lifters kit and a new bored tbi from ebay.

How, might I ask, do you know TBI sucks? TBI is an ingenious system that was completely screwed over to meet emmisions standards. The idea of TBI, and what it can produce when used properly is amazing. The thing that sucks is the stock setup on the LO3 (the TBI 305 in question)
I AGREE its got benefits of a carb, but computer injected, HOW SMART. and its really simple to get more performance out of. like you can buy a tbi bored to 50mm and a intake manifold bored for 350 bucks and theres some good power. if you set your car up right with tbi, ie get rid of any power sucking parasites on the car tbi is awsome. its so simple.
