Default 305 to 350

I've heard nothing but good things about swapping the 305 to 350, and am doing it soon. I guess my question is how much of a difference am I going to see with the 350??

well if you have a stock 305 right now you probly have somewhere around 175-190 horsepower, and with, per-say, a gm performance crate 350 your lookin at around 290 stock.

Simply stated... there is no replacement for displacement. You can get more power more efficinetly out of a 350.

huge, the basic bottom of the line 350 is puttin out about 180 horse. Thats what the 305 is getting to the rear wheel. But, spend a little money and you can easy get over 300 horse. Its all in what you want to spend.

Well, think about it. It will be more efficient to make power with a 350. For the same amount of money for both motors, the 350 will make more power. Sick likes to dump money into his 305 to make 302 hp. There is a point where you can reach 1 hp for each C.I.D. for your motor.The amount of money to get it there is greater with a 305. 350 has so much potential. We've built a 600 hp naturally aspirated 357 motor for under $10,000. We plan on adding a supercharger later so we upgraded the rotating assembly while we were down there.

i may be thinking to the flywheel, but still, not a lot of power any way you look at it.

Well the engine im getting is definately a bottom line 350, cheap as they come. My next question is...what would be the first thing you guys would modify on this engine?

i agree with 83 up there, but with an intake upgrade, you need a exhaust upgrade as well to get the most of your intake upgrades. Headers and a full exhaust to go with it.
