Is 282 duration too much on a street car?

There's nothing wrong with Summit Cams; in fact they are all made by major brand makers. My 427 has a Summit cam in it of 284 degree, with 528" lift. It's 10 yrs. old now, and it's still working just fine. I've purchased a number of Summit cams for various engines, and never had an issue of any kind if they're properly lubed with assembly lube, and properly broken in.
As a matter of fact, I'd take just about any Summit brand name product whenever possible. Most the time their products come with a Summit label stuck over the major maker's box, and you'll save 20-30% over the same item under the maker's name.
The last Summit engine rebuild kit I bought came with TRW forged pistons, Federal Mogul bearings, and a number of other brand name parts, all in a Summit box.
You do get what you pay for, but sometimes you pay less for what you get!
