Default 1985 I dont know what

I bought this car for $500 and I thought it was just and sports coupe but after reading on the net I am not sure. It has been abused and needs love...but I would like to know more about it. I had the vin checked and it has the 5.0 LG4 cid and it says it a z28 or a SC I will post more pics if needed.

Looks to be a Z28, what emblem does it have on the ground effects? Should have Z28.

Default Z28

I was told you could tell by the tail lights and that only Z28's and Irocs had these. It has been repainted and was red The red shows through on the hood and on the body in spots it has no emblems or ground effects. I was looking at a another website and they had a poster from 85 it had a an Iroc with no ground eefects the poster was from GM. I think the ground effects were an option for even the Iroc. I will get some more pics on here soon as its light out in the morning. Is there any other way to tell?

I didn't know you could get an IROC without gfx's, every one I've seen had them. That would cool if you had one.

You could take the vin and run it through carfax and maybe that would tell you.

I did and it does not give the model it just say sports coupe of z28. I have had some serious camaro guys even come over and look and I guess there is no way to tell. I even called a guy over at GM parts house and he siad he was not sure. It said it could just be missing the ground effects..it has been repainted. After getting on the net and looing around it appears the tail lights are diffrent on the sports coupe and z28 but Im not sure. This is just crazy that it is so hard to find out.
