im lookin at a camaro and to the best of the owners knowledge it is a real z car
but it dont say z28 on the title or body tag
what is a way to tell for sure

pop the hood and count the cylinders.

does all z28's have power windows and locks because this car dosent have them

 

??? Although 8 cylinders in a 4th Gen would automatically mean Z28, that's not the case in earlier generations. It could have a v8, and not be a Z28.

 

Is it a later 2nd gen? I.E., what model year is it? The later z28s all had the side vent on the front fenders and a hood scoop if I'm not mistaken.

My title doesn't say Z28, it says "Camaro Coupe". However, as far as I know, mine's a real Z. I would be shocked if it wasn't. It has the fender vents, hood scoop, steering wheel says Z28 and so does the back of the car where the gas cap is. The grille had the "Type LT" emblem, but I'm pretty sure the grille was from another car. I removed the emblem so now I just have a plain grille that doesn't say anything at all

 

hey you know what? i had alost the same problem except that i didn't know if mine was an original RS or not,

anyways just pop the hood and check the trim tag... it's on the drivers where the window and door meet more or less,

mine has all the RS features but it wasn't an origina RS it wasbuilt later .... sad huh? anyways take those numbers and there are places on the internet such as naztyz28 where you can check them.
