valley pan?

are you supposed to run a oil valley pan(i think thats what you call it) inbetween the intake manifold and heads?? the motor i pulled out of my car didnt have one, just wanted to know to get one or notinto my new motor. thanks

No, you don't.
Separate valley pans are used to seal off the lifter valley on engines (such as Mopars) that use a raised style intake manifold.
Chevy manifolds seal the lifter valley as one whole unit.
