Small block mounting help!!!
so I recently purchased a 70 camaro with a small block that I took out of another car. The car was a 77 camaro so the motor mounting is completely different. I have tried to find the frame mounts for a small block and can’t find any, anywhere. I have a set of motor mounts off the 77, but the holes don’t line up. Has anyone ever done this before that could give me some insight on what needs to be done or has anyone used the B.B. motor mounts and made them fit into the newer style engine mount? If someone could measure the B.B. motor mount where the bolt goes through would be great to, do I could see if I can make them fit. Running out of options other than fabricating something.

I'm not following you on this, you bought a car without a motor and a motor but not installed in the car? Is that what you are saying?
There should be no difference in a '70 and a '77 small block Chevy as far as mounting goes, the engines are the same.
What was in the '70 before, was it a small block V-8 or a six or a big block or what?
Are the frame parts of the motor mounts in the '70 missing or just not matching the motor mounts on the engine?
You should be able to get 1970 Camaro motor mounts at any parts house and a small block Chevy is a small block Chevy excluding the real early ones that don't have bolt holes for the side mounts.
Are you putting a V-8 in a six cylinder car maybe and need the frame members?

The engine mounts were different were different from 1970 1/2-1971 .And they went to the "clamshell mount" fro 1972-81 Look foe the Engine mounts for a 1970 1/2-1 Z-28 Camaro .That should be available at most any parts store .I would get the rubber ones.Polyurethane and solid mounts are more for race cars .And transfer less vibration.

The car is a 70 so it has the old style frame mounts. I have a brand new set of motor mounts for the 77 to mount to the frame, however the bolt holes do not line up on the 70 frame. I know motor mounts can be bought anywhere but the frame mounts are not. Basically, if I try to use the 77 mounts, I will have to take the mounts and mount them to the motor and then set the entire drivetrain in the car and try to line up everything and I know the motor sits somewhat closer to one side than the other so I would have to guess where it sites and tack weld them on and then pull the drivetrain out to drill the correct holes. I was just trying to see if there was something someone else did to make sure it goes in correctly.

I am going from a small block to a small block. The 77 mounts are different from the 70 mounts. I have already done that research, my question is if anyone has done this and what they have done. If I was asking about a v6 or big block conversion, I would have asked.
