My cousin was bragging to me how fast his friend's civic was. He says that it runs 10.5's, with only 20 grand in the engine. I choked, and proceeded to laugh at him. I said I can go fast, not that fast, but pretty fast for $2500. So I found the above car. I found a front clip for it for $500, and I would just paint it satin black or any other satin color. I figure I'd offer him $1000, buy another clip, and a used posi rear end and run it. Is this a good buy? I want to build a street legal bracket car, one that I can drive to the track. I figure that I can race this as it sits, then build a 383 for it in the future, or maybe even a 454. So, yes or no?
I was going to put a rear end in my car, but this 79 looks like a lot more fun.

Oh man, the engine alone is worth that (as long as it's tight). That's too far away from me, otherwise it would be "gone in 60 seconds"! Better grab it, it would be a fun car to play with.

yeah, maybe saturday. it's a 79 engine, so the emmissions might have killed it. But it has a cam in it, so the problem should be taken care of.
Now for the next question, what do I ned to pay attention to while I'm there? I always take my compression tester when I look at used cars. I just want to put a list together and check things off while I'm there.
What time do y'all think it will run? I don't know much about the pontiac engines, and how heavy that camaro is.

You never know but my guess is it could be a scam to get your email, Ive had it happen a few times. Seems like a good deal, pontiac 400s bring a decent price not like a 455 though I am sceptical especially with no phone #.

We've been in contact by email a few times. He said to come look at it for myself. It's been for sale for a while now, I saw it about 2 weeks ago for $2000, then $1800, and now $1200. It must be pretty beat on the outside. But I did find a complete front z28 clip, with the louvered fenders and a hood with the scoop.

lol, I've sent him 2 emails, I CALL DIBS! lol, my luck, it's probably a piece of junk. There's also a malibu with a 350 in it for a little more.
