Depends what you want to use them for. In general, oval port heads are better suited for street use, and rectangular port heads are better suited for all out power. Also, a lot depends on the cam, compression, and head mods such as porting, etc..

im shooting for 9.5:1 comp and im going to use the mutha thumper cam from comp cams

Looking at your compression it would seem that you are building for street use, so as I said before, the oval ports would be the best choice.

The reason im also going for low compression is later on im going to put a blower on it

I'm gonna go for rectangular and awaken the big block beast :D

The way I see it, you have a couple of options; build a blower motor from the beginning, or build what you're talking about now, then tear it apart to rebuild it for a blower application. 9.5 c.r. is not low, it's still too high for a blower, you need it to be in the 8:1 range. You also want to use forged "blower" pistons that have stronger designed ring lands. Plus if you build a blower motor, but keep it n/a, the low c.r. is going to require you to run a cam with less duration than you would with a blower, or it will be a real dog. Both of these engines would be built totally different from each other. Wanting to build a good streetable engine now, and slap a blower on it later, doesn't work.

I know i was looking at everything and thought Ohhhhhh, this project is going to be a high hp streetable car, my next project will be a 70's trans, that will be the blower motor. I still like the 9.5:1 compression, for the camaro that is. Ill go 8:1 for the trans
