Be sure to check the plug wires also! I've had an engine start missing, and found a wire that had slipped loose on the distributor. The plug will foul from not firing, and make you think that's the problem, when in fact it's the result of a problem.
I've used my timing light also to assure each wire is firing at the plug. Simply clip it on, and see it flash with each firing. If it doesn't flash, there's a problem at that plug or the wire.

Nice. Good to hear you got it running well, your old carb was the main suspect.

Ok I'm back so I took the car out brakes are from bad master cylinder got that figured out but the new carb makes the car run one all cylinders much better but could use some fine tuning so I hooked up a vac gauge to new carb and went to set air fuel mix screws and found out that that I can screw them all the way in and car won't die it might idel down a little this is on both also I can remove them completely and car still will run now keep in mind my idel is set at 1000rpm max vacum is at around 9-11 psi I can't pin point a good setting so I set them at 1 and 3/4 out. Also I completely eliminated the pvc to carb and put breather caps on both valve covers. Plugs still foul but I was running car tryn to set carb better with no luck so driving on freeway at 60 mph rpms were almost 4 grand due to the 411 gears at 60-70 it had a slight stumble .. now at idel the cars cam doesn't sound as crisp and clean as it used to so it's not lean becouse I couldn't smell gas or get that burning eye thing going on lol .. why is the carb not cutting off the engine when screws are all the way in .. still confused .. now the only thing I can think of is on the old carb I changed the metering rods richer but that was a 600 cfm the new carb is a 650 thunder so if I install the same metering rods from other carb would this possibly work .

First start by putting the PVC system back on. Your engine will breathe better, and last longer. Then set your idle down as low as it will idle and keep running. Then try setting the idle/air mixture with the lower idle speed. Having the idle too high is going to make it tough to set with a vacuum gauge.
Also check to ensure the new carb has a good gasket seal. If there's a vacuum leak you'll never get any response from the carb adjustments.

When the pvc is hooked up it sucks I believe to much oil from valve cover tho . Also thinking of changing metering rods and springs as well

You've got some other issue if the PCV is sucking oil from the valve cover. Need to install a baffle below it, or figure out why it's pulling oil out of the valve cover. PCV valves work, and help reduce crankcase pressures. They are one of the few improvements on modern cars that actually help make HP, and decrease crankcase pressures. Your breathers will be puking oil mist all over your engine without the PCV valve.

So The Parts Store Is Giving Me A New 650cfm Thunder Series Carb Since I Couldn't Get The Other One To Work hooked up pvc again seems to run ok I'm Going To Reset My Timming And New Carb At The Same Time It Seems To Run Decent But It Still Isn't quite right yet idles at 1000. in gear 8 hundred rpms. has a slight miss at hire rpms. I want to play with the metering rods and springs alittle and see if thst changes anything plugs still foul out but I'm sure it's due to the thumper cam and putting around .
