I need some advice
Hey guys, ill take any help i can get,
i didnt build the motor or put the carb on etc. everything was in from po.
idles fine, i excelerate slowly the revs are fine, everything is fine until i excelerate fast (step on it), it seems as if it wants to stall or its getting to much gas or air? it whistles to (not sure if thats normal)
stock 350, carb is a Holley 1850-4 600cfm with a 1" spacer, can i be using the wrong carb? take the spacer off? my fuel pump?
i cant rev the car up, i have to real slow
any suggestions would be very appreciated

well i put this on for now until i get the Holley fixed up,
does anyone have a pic of how the vacuum hoses go? i think i got it but still not sure, alot of difference from Holley to rochester i find.
But a pic of a rochester hooked up so i can see where all the hoses go would be awsome.
thanks

did u check the vacumm and mechanical advance. been a while sense i played with a qjet. dont like em much. holley is not that hard to rebuild or is it in bad shape inside? well u should have a hose from the valve cover to the air cleaner. should be the one without a pvc valve on it. one with pvc valve on it goes to the carb vacumm.

never took it apart yet
so maybe its just the wrong one th po put on? my breather doesnt have a spot for it anyway, is it ok to just leave it until i put the new valve covers?
thanks

pick up a shop manual for your make and model. do searching on here and the net and learn as much info on your car as u can. its like a woman u have to learn and see what needs to be done and how to do it. also will suck up all your money. lol. the advance is in the distributor.

the passenger valve cover just needs a filter to keep dust out of the motor if it isn't puffing blowby.
the hose going to the switch on the thermostat housing might as well be gone and pluged off. that is for your missing heat riser valve to pull hot air up the stove pipe in the winter!
how does it run with th q jet ?
that is made to work good on that motor! better to get a top engine builder to mod your q-jet if want it to run good year after year never needing ajustment or power valves if ... each time ... a holley back fires!
