Engine will not start (sensors)
I replaced the six cylinder engine in my 1974 Camaro with an earlier model V8 that doesn't have the sensors (Thermal Vac. Switch, Transmission Controlled Spark System, Vac. advance solenoid, TCS temp. switch, Idle stop solenoid) that were on the six. All of these sensors appear to get positive power from one tan wire that is powered when the key is turned on. I have removed all of the sensors and the tan wire is simply not hooked up to anything. The problem is, the replacement engine will not start and I am wondering if all of these sensors not being hooked up have something to do with it. The engine is getting fuel and spark, but it will not fire up. Any help would be appreciated. FYI, the replacement engine is a 1967 Pontiac 326. Thanks.
