Exclamation coolant/anti-freeze by-pass?

I just bought a 1979 Camaro Berlinetta 350 SBC down in sacramento, CA. I live in Reno, NV. I believe the elevation change busted the coolant hose. Its leaking through the frame and dash. I was wondering if there is any way to by-pass this, so that I dont have to take the dash off and find the leak in there. My friend has a 98 Z28 who had the same problem and he was able to by-pass it. but that's a totally different car.

All answers will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Most likely it's your heater core that's leaking. If you remove both heater hoses from the firewall connection, and then one from the other end on the engine, you can then loop one hose back to the engine where the other hose was removed and it will stop coolant from entering the heater core.

Thank you. I was looking for the other hose that loops it back but couldn't. Where is the hose that loops back to the engine. Bottom end? Near distributor?

Thanks

The way they are from the factory, neither of them just loops back. There is one going from the firewall to the water pump, and another going from the firewall to the front of the manifold near the thermostat housing.Like Val said, all you need to do is disconnect one of them on the motor, then loop the other,or you can unhook both at the firewall and use a coupler to loop them together.

You'll see both hoses on the firewall. Follow them back and you'll see where they start. Remove one, and hook the other to that location to complete the loop.
