Cold V8 305 Starts but stops after 5 seconds
Hello guys,
Let me first introduce myself.
I'm new on this forum. I live in Belgium. I mean that English is not my first language. Apologies for this.
My car is a camaro 1979 with a 305 engine. Transmission is a TH350.
I bought the car 1 year ago. I finished the renovation. (I bought the most spare parts from RockAuto.)
I still have a problem with the cold start. The engine starts fine, but when the engine is cold, it stops after 5 seconds.
I have to restart the engine 4-5 times before it stays running.
Only then can I shift a gear without the engine stops. (I have an electrical choke.)Any ideaz?
Thank you
O.

There is a few different things that can cause this. First thing I would check is the choke adjustment and function and then check for vacuum leaks.
Hello,
thank you for your answer.
The choke is on the right position.
But wich vaccum leaks are you talking about?
I have a vaccum
- between carbs and TH350
- between carbs and booster
- between carbs and igniter valve
- between carbs and fule sniffer
Thank's

Any leak any where in the system. I have no idea what you mean by igniter valve and fuel sniffer.
Search youtube for finding vacuum leak.
