Post Buying 1978 camaro

Hey i am looking at a camaro down the street from my house and it looks in good shape. The guy is wanting 3000 for it and it has about 103000 on it but the interior is a little messed up. The carpet is a little torn but the rest of the car is in decent shape. I was wondering how long camaros last and if that seems like a good deal. I was also wondering what is the average miles per gallon for it and if my 17 year old kid would be able to keep it up as a 2nd car for him. Please just let me know anything about it and if it is a good deal. Thanks

well carb'd cars dont get as good mpg's as a fuel injected car,and it depends how you drive it.Chevy's last a long time as long as you take care of them and 103k isnt bad at all for a 30 year old car.Doesnt sound like a bad deal at all.

i just gave 2500 for a 78 with almost no interior. if the floors and trunk arent rusted out does sound like a bad price. can you post up any pics?
