I just got this 1980 Z28 with the air induction hood but I can't find the wiring that goes to it. Can anyone tell me where it comes from and if it opens as soon as the car starts or after a certain rpm is reached...Thanks, Larry

 

hi, to the best of my knoledge there should be an orange wire at about the center of the fire wall that connects to the solinoidof the air induction hood scoop.this is activated from a switch on the accelorator pedal . mine opens about when the secondaries of the carburator open . the switch is the same as a down shift switch for a turbo 400 transmission. ita kind of a reastat type switch .
