Default 2barrel to 4 barrel

I have a 1980 rs with a 231 v6 that has a Rochester dual 210. I'm in the middle of rebuilding it and am toying with the idea of going to a quadrojet carb with a new intake manifold instead. Is this a very tough change over? Is it as simple as putting the new intake on with the new carb and sorting out the vacuum hoses? How much power would I gain from this? And is it very expensive? What kind of cost is it for these parts?
Thanks everyone!

i have a 231 that we use in the pot pump. found a 231 4 barrel intake on a station wagon at a local wrecking yard and use a 600 edelbrock carb. way cheaper than a q jet.

If you want dump the 231 and find a 4.3 from the 88-93 that got more cubic inches and the same bolt pattern for the trans. Get the one piece seal flex plate and bolt it up. Next get you hands on a set of later VORTEC heads and bolt them on with the 4 barrel carb. Marine motors had them and their on ebay all the time. You will need a HEI for the 90 degree fireing order of the 4.3 so get one of those. Your 231 distributor will NOT WORK. Get a nice roller cam the the motor and you around 300hp at the crank. I know my s-10 runs 13.20 at 104mph with a set up close to this. The part are in the junk yards and easy to get for song.
