Turbo 350 - only 1st and reverse
Any chance that power dropping a turbo 350 would take out the valve body and bot the entire tranny?
Truck has first and reverse.
Still shifts between them very hard.
Gonna pull the tranny as soon as it warms up. Bought I thought I would ask if perhaps it just took out the valve body. I have two other trannys sitting here that have good vavle bodies.

It is a different one. I have several Chevy's.
This one was in the C10 and when I had the vacuum advanced
messed up I dropped drive with the idle at like 3000 RPM's.
There was a loud clank and some tink, tink sounds.
When I tried to drive home I only had 1st gear. So clearly,
my first thought was I shelled the tranny. Well, it shifted
really strong into first and reverse so that got me wondering.
When I started taking the tranny out I looked close for other issues. I noticed the vacuum modulator was unhooked. The
tink, tink sound was the metal vacuum line bouncing on the
cross member.
Tranny seems to be doing ok. I replaced the filter. Didn't see any
big stuff in the pan. Was the dirtiest pan I had ever scene. Full
of shavings, so I dont know. But it is shifting really hard. Barks
the tires in second.
I have receipts for the 2500 rpm stall and the stage 2 shift kit.
Not sure why a power drop would blow off the vacuum line,
but whatever. At least I don't have to change a tranny yet.
