Default Borg Warner T10 4 speed

Dumb question but my trans has a minor leak and i bought the gasket kit for it and i was just wondering does it need a gasket sealer like any other gasket?

Theoretically, flat clean surfaces and proper bolt torque - in/lbs not ft/lbs - only a gasket is needed.
Permatex #2 lightly coated is good.

BTW, dumb question is the one not asked.

I was always a fan of a light coating of wheel bearing grease on my gearboxs and rear end gaskets. Petroleum jelly on automatic

I usually put a light coat of RTV silicone sealer on my gaskets.it usually seals better
