Default Trying to trade for a camaro

Trying to trade my truck for a camaro has proved to be a very hard task. There has got to be someone out there that needs/wants a nice classic truck. My question is people seem to be unwilling to trade even if they have a POS camaro for my truck. My truck is valued at 8k by NADA because it is only needing body work and paint and a little interior work. What is going on with these people? Rolling chasis with rust issues and asking 3k and im offering this truck you think people would jump on it, LOL. Any suggestions?

Problem right now is with gas hitting nearly $4 (premium). People aren't looking for 4x4 vehicles and most people won't trade a Camaro for a truck. NADA may say it's worth 8k but trucks are also rated higher than a car. Put it in car terms, you're truck is worth 3500-4000k. And many people are not looking for projects. Just some facts and 2 cents.

Thanks, I have over 10k into this truck and I'm not about to just hand it over because someone just thinks trucks are valued as less. Its a factory "highboy" which means its a rare truck and worth more than just an regular 4x4 truck. Highboys are desirable in "truck terms" and most you'll find are beat to crap. So I guess i'll just sit tight till i find the right trade. I don't mind takeing a loss for the right car, but 3-4k is just robbing me

I'm not in any way saying your truck is valued less. Realistically, it's not. It's just people don't look at it the same economically. If a buyer has 8k to spend, and they have the choice of your Ford "Highboy" and say a regular pick up and understand what the "Highboy" is and are in need of work truck, which do you think they'll choose? The regular pickup. What I'm getting at is that most people who buy trucks, buy them because they need something that can haul/tow/carry a object or objects and isn't concerned so much with damaging something or scratching the paint. You're looking for a collective buyer who understands the value of the truck. Depending on where you live, that may or may not come easy.
As far as trading for a car, again, as stated before, gas just hit $4 a gallon. People want little 4 cylinders that get 40+ mpg. Not a V8 truck that'll do 12 in the city. Just hold off a little. 4th gen Camaro's will start selling around the 2-3k range soon.

I see a lot of the old Ford High boys like that for sale, and they all seem to have a problem getting rid if them. Just not real popular

Alot of Camaro owners (just speaking about ones ive known personally) dont really like Ford lol. i had a 84 C-10 that i had no prob trading, i had a few to choose from and ended up getting a 81 camaro and some people say i was crazy for trading. but my advice is just to sit on it for awhile, you'll find one.

this is what i traded, only rust was on the wheels. this truck was in amazing shape

Heck yeah thats a nice truck. I have a 86 short box 4x4 but its starting to show the signs of death. I had a 85 2wd shorty that I slammed and traded for my 78. Which was my 78 to begin with, just one of those father, son , good buddy deals where we all wanted each others car.

You can just see the nose of the 86 in this pic.
