Installing a LS1 in my 1977 Camaro
#171
We took the body off on June 30th but I began preparing for that event a couple of weeks earlier. So it was nine months. I would have had it finished sooner but I broke my wrist last August which set me back about six weeks. And my mom became ill last fall and winter and, on various trips, I spent about a month in Indiana with her before she passed away at 91 in January. The advantage I have is that I am retired and spent nearly every day in the garage. I am looking forward to some less hectic times. At least until I find a another project!!

I bet that is a blast to drive. I have read that BB Vette's and Cobras were about worthless for more than burn outs and scary rides. The small block cars were fun. I have no first hand knowledge of either car but I can imagine the power to weight makes it like an over sized go cart.
Very nice resto BTW. I would be proud to drive it.

I want that vette so bad and put a balanced power LS (mild-build) with 6 speed in it. FUN! I really think your swap idea was awesome being in a 77 and all it was unique and cool but cool cash too lol. I'm starting my new job soon, and I am saving up for a basic LS engine to: 'cam, header & carb' for a street car. I decided to go street and put a 6 speed in it. I still want 12's but I would be satisfied with 13 second quartermile for a street machine that does ok on fuel for cruising and light strip duty ever now and then. I just want this hog to be peppy like my '93 mustang and 73 comet was: both 13 seconds flat in the quarter just fun little street cars but they had 306's, man. steer/man.brakes, no AC, & glass hoods and I drove them to work everyday. Except this one will be a slightly heftier/bigger pony car or uni-F-body if you like.
