thanks!
All the above! Ive got a stand to put the engine on and we'll go thru it bit by bit Im gonna show him how to check clearences ect. we'l either use a degree wheel to see what the cam is thats in it or try to run numbers. Im assuming its got a mild flat tappet hydro cam in now may go to a solid roller or hydro roller. probbly work over the OE heads for now and get some cool aluminum ones later so we'r goin full on whith this I caint wait to see what we end up with

i think thats a great plan,im running the solid roller in my small block u will like it,even the hydr. rollers run good.yeah them factory heads should be fine for now maybe just some cleaning of the ports, gasket match it will make a big diffrence.

pulled a valve cover and got the head casting numbers 346236 which turn out to be plain ol openport heads with 2.06 intakes and 1.72 exhaust valves I repulled the block casting numbers 361959 which is car/truck not tall truck so we'r good there palying with comp cams cam selection software and dyno we should be able to get about 515peak HP with solid roller #xr280r cam with our EFI setup and a 3000 stall! we'll see I guess
