I dont think its a tall deck as the casting numbers were the same as the 74 passenger car. unless the diff is in the heads? Ive been away from the beasts for about 15 years so theirs some holes in my memory. Im gonna clean it up tomorrow and get on a stand could anyone tell me what to look for? I guess I could set it in the frame real quick to see if theres any clearence issues. Im still excited
Orocker Ive waited my whole life for this build!

LOL ever pop the hood on a "passenger car" from the 70's. Even with a BB I can still get in there and sit on the fender well. At 6'4" and 225. I really don't know if its a tall deck or not. Impalas are the only thing I can think of that would have been available with a BB. My guy says Malibu's and Monte Carlo's were no longer getting them by 74'. I can't be certain though. Anyhow my point was an Impala may not have an issue with clearance with a Detroit diesel under the hood.

yeh I remember the land yachts of the 70's! you could hide several bodies in one of those things

well to remove any doubt I went ahead and placed the engine in the frame. the driverside rocker cover has a dent in it that lines up perfect with the brake booster
but looking at it, it looks like I could use/fab some different mounts to lower it/move it forward to clear. its more work but doable Ive got the camera batteries charging so pics to come soon.

yeah u could fab something to move it forward then ur also gonna need to move ur tranny cross member forward to compensate and u will also probably need to use an electic fan,not sure though depends how far it needs to go forward.
