Doors are the biggest pain. So may compound curves. I was looking at mine last night and really am considering a pro to do the paint and body.

Like I said, I've seen a couple outdoors paint jobs look great. In the morning its cool but you have to watch for bugs. then the hot sun bakes it. In a tight spot the clear floats around and hardens and falls back into the paint. Some people think its dirt but its really solidified clear. I had a buddy who's Power Wagon was done outside with single stage and man it looked good. Except for the June bug that landed on the top. He left it there because it was a mud truck anyhow and from that day he called the truck June Bug. LOL

I have a couple friends who painted their's outdoors and came out nice. They started very early in the morning and wet down the driveway. Then rolled the car outside and shot the paint. As soon as it was shot they rolled the cars back inside the garage before any bugs could get up and around to land on it.

yeah i think u could do a really nice job outside like that early in the morning, wish i would of had that option if only my tranny would have been installed i could have pushed it outside,i feel i could have been able to do a better job that way, just not enough room in my tiny garage and the lighting was very bad,but came out pretty good for what i had to work with i guess.

thx manslaughter299 i really appreciate it,i have alot of hard work in this paint job and lots of blood sweat and tears too,my first coat came out really bad didnt think i was even gonna be able to fix it had runs all over and tiger stripes,so i sanded it all down with 800 grit, then i proceeded to lay 4 light coats fallowed by a medium coat and came out perfect then just wasnt enough room to lay it wet.the clearcoat i could of asked for it anybetter except i had a small spot on the roof that had dry spray sanded the roof with 1000 wet and resprayed it and came out like glass like the rest of the car, couldnt be happier for a home sprayed paint job.i love this color one of the nicest blues i ever saw it really pops when theres lots of light or sunshine,it actually changes colors with the amount of light, the more light the lighter the blue,in low light its almost a midnight blue, one of my favorite colors.should be painting and clearcoating the doors within the next few days.

finally got my transmission installed lastnight, went with a completely rebuilt th350 for now,has the hardened sprag and alston red clutches, also had the manual valve body kit put in it,and im running a 2500 stall convertor.all the st10 i found and looked at had been pretty beat up and for what they wanted a rebuilt one for just a few more bucks i can get me a tko600 wich is in my future plans.my block was never drilled and tapped for the block side pivot ball for the z-bar so i still gotta figure that out,now i just gotta figure out how to mount my auto shifter to the 4 speed hump that might be a challenge too and still use my auto console.
