Good progress. I forgot about the X brace in the rad. opening. I took mine out too long ago to remember. I hope the extra bracing I put in the car will make up for it being gone.

I'm putting the Jeep engine in tomorrow morning, thank God! I still need a water pump and some odds and ends but it can sit in the truck now. I finally found the reason the heads warped .030". There is a chunk of water pump missing on the bottom right where the seal goes. My guess is it pumped out all the water and over heated before anyone knew what was happening.

The 6.0L is starting to take shape as well. We got the motor tore down to inspect. I have never seen a motor rust like that, the dip stick tube rusted in half. Must be one of those cars left over from Katrina.

 

thx damon i appreciate it,im mglad to here u finaly got that jeep motor all put together,and ready to install,i bet that was a bear to rebuild them over head cam engines aint fun,i used to rebuild the quad 4 engines years ago,when i used to drag race them in my cutlass.they werent fun to rebuild i could only amagine how hard urs was.

im sure u will be fine without that x brace,with all the extra bracing u got.yeah that could easily have warped the heads if it over heated,
never heard of them 6.0s rusting like that it must be pretty bad to have rusted the dipstick in two.must have been a car left over from katrina...LOL...hope it didnt get any water in the engine too.

 

Pulled the heads on the 6.0 this morning, the cylinders look new. The Jeep has been a pain all day, I can't seem to get the motor and tranny to mate. Tried 4x4 **** and everything.

 

man that jeep is really being a pain in the but,but it will be worth it when its done,i had a chevelle once no matter what i did i couldnt get it to line up,had to pull the tranny and put them in together.

i did get the chance to work on my car last night,got half if my subframe painted....

More like Wolverines, we live in Michigan. I was just busting ***** anyhow. If he wanted pink, its his car. BTW I remember a Pink 79' T/A in my old neighborhood. It had all the decals and everything. Wasn't bad looking, for a girl. LOL But a drug dealer drove it.
