Before you start tuning run the screws all the way in and gently to a stop. Then back the screws out 1 turn. Hook up your vacuum gauge and start opening the screws 1/8-1/4 turn at a time. Be sure to go side to side while adjusting, as it's very important both sides match. Once you have maximum vacuum you can stop. Don't open the screws any farther than need be to reach that point. You can go back and forth to fine tune the mixture, and see if going in or out makes a higher vacuum signal.
Most older Holley carbs liked around 1.5 turns, but something has changed in their design, and newer Holleys like around 3/4 turn.

thats about what i did. except i started at 1 1/2 turns and went in.

they are all sitting at about 1 turn. and its pulling a nice 21hg.

my initial timing is set at about 16* because my total timing wasnt reachin where i though it should. as soon as my curve kit gets here im going to re do that and get it as close to 12-36 as possible.

but she's running pretty damn good.

i pulled a plug and it was sooty but just barely i wiped it off and it looked perfect.

put new plugs in and hooned it around for a while and they look beautiful.

she needs a spool or posi, 1st and second are just tire smoke :P also needs bigger rear tires.. i have some 31x10.50s im going to put on once i shackle the rear.

i cant wait to see what a cam will do.. she is most deffinatly not a smog 350..

well i never said they were truck tires.. but if i got that kind of reaction then obviously i need to do it.

but yes they are truck tires. for now. its going to get dot slicks in that same size..

although some 31-12.50 swampers would be awesome on the back of a camaro.

have i mentioned i have a subaru on truck tires..

I have no issue either way. The Scuby on truck tires is ok. They can be real off road machines if need be. Wagon and all.

i just like to different, yes i could get a toyota and have a better offroad machine. but thats been done thousands of times.

which is kinda my thinking toward bonemaro. i want people to see it and go what the f***k.

especially if it has swampers on the back and turbos sticking out of the hood......

I'm afraid I'm not digging the truck tires on a 2nd gen either. Unless you're planning on making it a rally car, and then they usually use smaller profile anyway.

yeah but moneys tight and it needs bigger tires on the rear.. if it still had 3.08s i wouldnt mess with it, but i already plan on 31x12.50 dot slicks so im just going to run the truck tires for now. plus i might drive it a little next winter. you know because drifting is fun

Yes, the slick size you've chosen is going to be too much. Not just in width, but height! I run 10.50x30x15 slicks on my BBC powered Falcon, with 3.73 rear gears, and a super T10 4 speed. My other car is a similar setup, but only 28" tall tires. I can see a marked difference in engine rpm, as the 30" tires extra height really makes the gears seem way taller. Not a problem with tons of torque and HP on the Falcon, but your SBC 350 will feel like a dog with any tire over 28" tall.
