A 400 hp kit with cam, heads, intake, all but carb is easy for $1500.00. Thats a 350!..... Yes you still need to clearance a 350 block for a 383 kit. And you would put a new crank and all into an unmachined block anyway??

well i got a lot more wiring done today i looked at my new door panels and theres no hole cut for power locks so eliminated them all together the wiring had been cut and duck taped all over so i wasnt willing to take the risk of hooking it all up then having them not work and personally i dont think its too hard to reach over and push the lock down also hooked up all of my vacuum lines for my blend-air doors my new heater core should be here tomorrow then i can hook the rest of the heater hoses and lower dash up my plan is to just wrap the cracked lines in black tape unless anyone has a better low cost alternative, also sanded and prepped my brake booster for paint. lots of small things today but it adds up i guess. my motor situation bugs me, all i have for sure is a victor jr intake and edlebrock carb that will go on whatever motor i get i got the carb with the 305 and the intake for 150 on ebay i think a decent pair of aluminum heads will cost me 600bucks i think i might just pull a 350 out of my mud truck and rebuild that id like to have enough power to at least scare my passenger when i take off lol i talked to my old man today and he said he was going to look around for a motor too i guess it will be a bit before i really need to start worrying about it

I'm a diehard Holley guy. That's the only carb I'd reccommend.

I agree with Vall. But I just bought and eddy with a tuning book for 150. The price was right and my DD needs love. Plus it looks new. Pray for me!

i was thinking something around 65-75 CFM with a vacuum secondary i found a summit carb that looked like what i was looking for Summit Racing SUM-M08750VS - Summit Racing Street & Strip® Carburetors - Overview - SummitRacing.com id like to find something used and cheaper tho like 150-200 dollars max heres a couple pics one of my intake the other of my old and new heater core, i opened up my pumpkin today only to find out it only has 2.56 gears (i think i got that right) and not 4.11 like i was told, ill have to pull off the other cover and see if i cant get more lucky.

I have the same intake posted above for way less than 185. If your interested. I would use the 75 cfm carb on it.

If you don't have big heads and a big cam 650 is perfect. Vacc secondaries are great for the street.
