Default 79 z28 build

Hey i started this project last fall but at the time didnt have the time or money to continue. So this winter i finally saved up enough to get started. I have 2 79 z28s the one im restoring has t tops and the other one i saved from a redneck trying to restore the body but it was too far gone so its now my parts car. The one with t tops didnt have a front subframe so i pulled it off the older one sanded it and undercoated it then threw it onto the new one (sounds easy lol) currently all i have for a motor is a 305 with a 350 turbo tranny. im looking at trying to find a 350 to rebuild and putting a 700r4 tranny in it lots of work ahead of me heres some pics

haha thanks, sometimes he gets about as much work done as me. Pulled off the dash in the parts car today im going to be putting it in my new one was wondering if anyone had expirience with dash caps and could tell me if they would work on mine or if anyone had any suggestions on how to make this one look good also took out my ac unit and cleaned that out i might be eliminating it all together. another question i had was how much do you think i could get for my used 305 and 350 tranny both rebuilt at the time and have about 3000 miles on them both.

MN everything look real good so far. Glad you started over here!! Dashes just S**K. Don't know if they have caps for your year yet! Reminds me of a car I saw at a show. He had a carpet, all bound, I think it was velcro'd on. It was cut out fot the ac etc. I wish I went that route. My cap was a PITA! still not right!

Don't even consider trying to put one on outside the car! You need to be sure the dash pad is sitting as it will when the cap is installed.
There's a long thread in the 2nd gen section on dash caps.

ill have to shop around a bit on the dash cap and read some reviews on them idk about the carpet idea on my dash i think it might look a bit tacky, in other news i traded one of my stock z28 hoods for this fiberglass one idk if i like the looks of it yet or not but i figured i didnt need 2 stock ones lol
