79 4 Speed, Speedometer
Hey guys,
In the process of restoring a 79' Camaro 350 4 speed.
This is my first project and I'm not experienced with restoring cars so I'm hoping you guys can help.
I bought the car with no speedometer or speedometer cable. I've been looking at different sites for speedo cables and I'm not sure what I need. Some have "Upper" and "Lower" and I'm not 100% sure on whats needed. Also, the car came with a Equus 8000 series Tach already installed. So I bought a Equus 8000 series speedo to match. I'm not even sure if this speedo will work with the type of cable needed for the car, so if you have any ideas please reply!
This is the speedometer I have: https://www.summitracing.com/int/par...8076/overview/

If your car has cruise control, you have 2 shorter cables. A lower one that goes from the trans to the cruise module, and an upper one that goes from the module to the speedo. If no cruise, then you use the single long cable. Haven't used the speedo you have, so can't say if your stock cable attaches directly without any adapter. See if Equus has downloadable installation instructions on their website.
