Ok so for all who said my old air cleaner was a fire hazard . . .

that should work better.

Did a bunch of rust removal and converting today. I think its looking 100% better. I still need to re-seal the seams and fiberglass a few small holes and then i can throw some primer down and spray my sound deadener in.

looks like you've got a couple holes that will need patch panels too! Those two on the rear pass. side are too big to glass in.

Looks better. I did some interior work this weekend too. I'm still hacking away at the under coating on the inside. I'd rather make a patch really. Much easier to do.

BB427 - You dont think those 2 holes can be glasses ? they arent THAT big . . . and i kinda cant afford to drag it to the shop and have them weld pieces in (i dont have a welder)

They could be glassed, but I wouldn't glass them. If anything I'd get some sheetmetal and cut it to fit over the holes with 1/2" or so of overlap. Then I'd use something like JB Weld and epoxy them in place. After that just seal the edges above and below with seam sealer.
But I'd weld them if it was mine, never glass them in.

I can't tell where the holes are. If you can't weld them, they make body panel adheasive that literally is as strong as weld. You rough it up with 40g for some good tooth, then apply and let harden.

You can cut out a square around the holes then use sripes 1" wide to glue from the bottom making a flange. After they harden then cut a peice exactly the size of the square and glue that down. Presto no weld.

This stuff is from 3M.Holy crap 50 bucks too. I guess its cheaper than a welder. About the same a glass after you buy everything.

I wouldn't trust JB Weld to hold.
