I always error on the low side. If you go too high on the PV you'll get a too rich idle situation. I removed the PV's from both of my carbs on my 327 because I was idling about 6-7 lbs., and rich enough to burn your eyes at idle. Dropped down to 3's on both and cleaned right up.

Today went well. I pulled the carb off and after looking over the base plate, I discovered that it already had the Pv saver installed. The spring that was under the check ball was not holding the ball in place as the kit said it should, so I drilled it out and installed a new spring and replaced the ball for good measure.
I cleaned all the passages with some air from my compressor. I made sure it was not alot tho. Did not want to mess anything up. I'll haft to drop the fuel tank and flush it out soon. Most of the carb was full of something that reminded me of rust and red clay mixed together....

I use brake cleaner with the nozzle to spray out the passages. The brake cleaner works well to wash out any crud in the passages. Just wear your safety glasses so it wont squirt back in your eyes!

Today was a cooler day in more way than one. My father lives in NC and has seen my progress on Facebook with the Camaro. Today I come home to a package on my front porch. The dirt bike engine parts I ordered are not due here for a week.....

He sent me a New Edelbrock 600 cfm carb!!!!
The letter stuffed inside the box simply said happy 25th birthday. Moved out when I turned 18 and I still get $300+ gifs....lol
I'm not going to install it until I flush the tank and replace the fuel lines.

I got the tank out and I was surprised at how clean it looked. From all the searching I did, I was almost sure I would need a new tank. This one is like new. My trunk floor has some small rust holes all the way tho, so I'm going to clean those up wile the tanks out. The screen filter on the end of the fuel inlet tube is shot and crumbling. The float dose not well..float and I fairly sure there's a small clump of brown hair floating around in my catch pan.

I flushed the fuel tank and gave it a coating of flat black paint. I installed the new edelbrock carb and she fired right up. After a bit of tuning I drove her down the street. She did well but the rear suspension has to be stiff so that the rear tires dont scrub. You can certainly feel it. The carb seems to have a bit of a whistle sound to it. I checked with some carb cleaner and cant find any vacuum leaks. Thoughts?

I just put one on my 86 Pick up. It kid of reminds me of a QJet as far as sound. I have no problem getting the secondaries to open. You can search out a vacuum leak with carb cleaner. Spray it around the intake gaskets, the hoses, and the base of the carb. You'll see the RPM's pick up if there is a leak. A high idle is a dead give away too.

Did you tune it to the best idle or with a vacuum gauge? Funny thing with mine. I did a intake swap, and the carb. Before the vacuum gauge was rock steady now it is bouncing like I have bad rings. Best running carb I've had on the truck yet though.

It been a long time since I've posted on here. sorry....
My distributor was advanced a good bit to far. I got that fixed and now she starts right up with no trouble. I've put just over 900 miles on the engine and shes running strong. I've also started back on the interior.
The rear seats are looking better.
1st one is before.
2nd one is today.

Its just the dye. I found out that the rear seats had a new cover over top of the stock ones. I just left them as is and cleaned them really well.
I got the driver seat done. I also had to do some welding on the frame as it had some cracks.
Edit....
Any one know where I can get the shoulder strap clip for the top of the seats?
