best thing today I was looking at my cluster and there was no gear indicator. so I got to thinking. I took a flash light and looked down by the gas panel and there is a clutch petal zip tied up. so its a factory 4 speed car. made my day.

Nice, the small (non-automatic) brake pedal should have dropped a big hint! lol

I used interior paint (dye) from SEM on my cars. it's held up great over the years. no color bleeding when i drive with my arm resting on the top of the door panel. I bought all their prep stuff too. I think that's why it's held up.

I tried the interior spray paint on some hard interior parts, and it didn't hold up well. It worked great on soft vinyl panels and material, but on the hard plastic parts it began to flake off in a couple years. I ended up getting a black vinyl wrap material with a leather grain and covering the hard parts which worked really well.

I use interior spray dye (not paint) on my Vettes that I've restored in the past, and doing one now. It's sold by Corvette America, the black should be the same as what's in your Camaro. On hard plastic or shiny surfaces, you want to scuff it up with either a Scotch pad, or with very fine sandpaper, lightly as to not remove the grain. I then clean it with brake cleaner, give it a coat of Dupli Color adhesion promoter, then the dye. The dye works very well, and can't/doesn't flake off because it's not a "paint".

yea, the SEM stuff is a dye too. this is the process i did

1. wash the part your dying with dish soap
2. wash it with SEM soap.
3. dry thoroughly.
4. wipe down with SEM plastic & leather prep.
5. cover part with 2 medium coat of SEM adhesion promoter. allowing 15 min. between coats.
6. spray another even coat of adhesion promoter and before it dries dust on a coat of SEM color. allow to dry for 20 min.
7. spray 3 medium even coats of SEM color. allow 15 to 20 min. between coats.

I also had the heat cranked in my garage to about 80*. the interior has been in my car for 7 years now and it looks just as good as the day i did it.
