Unloading the day I got it https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/camarof...fdb297092.jpeg Stripped down getting ready for the rotisserie https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/camarof...7642c2ca4.jpeg Front and rear window channels are in perfect condition. https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/camarof...9e1daa146.jpeg Very solid floors |
This was someone’s abandoned project after they got over their head. The doors, hood, fenders, and front valance are not original to the car, but are in really good shape. There was no drivetrain, exhaust, or fuel tank, but the interior is all there. I paid $750 for the privilege of taking it off their hands. Plans include a complete body and interior restoration, an LS/T56 swap, and aftermarket aluminum Z/28 wheels.

It began as a standard front nose and an RS upper valance https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/camarof...9fb6d6f7a.jpeg Mocking things up https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/camarof...e9143d6b2.jpeg Two RS upper valances, one standard upper valence, and one standard lower valence https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/camarof...e97c63ba1.jpeg Added bumperettes to make a one piece front nose I am making a unique one piece front nose for the 70 build. This is a mashup of two upper RS valances, a standard upper valence, and a standard lower valence with trimmed down bumperettes. It is all metal and will use the one piece standard grill. Two of the 5” round housings will be turn signals and the other two will be cold air inlets. I plan on a flush rear bumper to match the front. |
Nice work, thanks for the update.

The 1970 Camaros did not have a fuel tank evaporator canister, so I had to modify the trunk floor to fit. https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/camarof...a12325e7f.jpeg I decided to put mini tubs in since I am replacing almost the entire rear half of the car. https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/camarof...fec1d8f88.jpeg Fitting the new tubs. https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/camarof...2005e63f2.jpeg Ready to weld, but I will finish the trunk floor before I finish the tubs. The rear valance and both quarter panels will come next. I’ve started the sheet metal replacement. Almost the entire rear half of the car needs replaced. I’m starting with the trunk floor and mini tubs, move to the rear taillight panel, then the left rocker, and finish with both quarter panels. |

https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/camarof...cd5ed2c8c.jpeg Just a simple patch on a common problem with 2nd gen Camaros. This was the last “repair” that was needed on the car. I am still in the process of replacing most of the rear sheet metal in the rear of the car and I will post those as I finish them. |

https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/camarof...efc5be490.jpeg I eliminated the front speaker grill from the dash. This is one of those things that most people don’t do, but I wanted a smoother look. We’ll see if anyone notices after the car is finished. |

I filled the hole in the firewall where the original HVAC system was. I want a smooth firewall, but I also want it to look like it came from the factory this way (not perfect). I am going to use an aftermarket unit under the dash. |
