1980 Z28 Fuel Filter assembly where metal gas line meets
For reference, Im not a mechanic, but and trying to dig this beauty from out of the grave, probably a simple question , but seeking some directions on next steps. Ive provided pics which I hope explain the sceanrio better for ADVICE on next steps, part numbers ,etc.
THANK YOU ALL for any suggestions you can send my way
If you want to keep it stock appearing there are stainless steel pre -bent fuel lines from such places such as Classic Industries . .Or you could make you an attempt to bend your own using a metal coat hanger to get the shape .3*/8 steel line and brass fittings .
Thank you sir, will do - Appreciate the clarity!
For reference of the "project" my 17 yr old son has named "WILDFIRE"...
Hasn't ran in 5+ years, but were gonna give it a go and hope for a miracle

Check the "help" section of you local parts store. If the threads are messed up going into the Carb you should be able to find replacement parts. Dorman I think makes the stock like parts. You can also just add a barbed fitting and put in an inline filter. This is your best bet since your tank and lines will be full of crap.
Something like this: (Note You need the measurements of your threads and your steel line below is to just give you an idea.)
.
With a rubber hose and hose clamps. Then something like this
Then another section of rubber hose back to the line.
You would need to cut off the line in a clean spot.
I would run the larger filters until I was sure the crap was out of the lines and tank. You may even want dual filters for awhile.
