Where can i get a replacement seat kit for an 81 Z28? I need the driver seat(not the frame) and im debating replacing the passenger seat too just for the hell of it. And some of the plastic pieces are a bit faded too. And reccomendations?

RE: Seats
Buy a complete set of 4th gen Camaro/Firebird seats, they are a direct bolt in. You do not have to change anything. A 13mm open end wrench and socket are all you need for this job.

RE: Seats
About the 4th gen buckets, the car you bolted them into is a 3rd gen car. Mine is a second gen car. Will it still bolt right in? If not how hard would it be to do it? And can you order them brand new? I need black leather ones.

RE: Seats
2nd gen Car you may have to change the mounting tracks (they might even be the same). You can get anything if money is no object. E-bay has black leather seats showing up at times in the $400/700 range for 4th gen seats.

RE: Seats
while we are on the topic,
if i were to get some racing seats that have the harness holes in the back, are there places on the seat to mount the racing harness, or are those just for the roll bar mount, or does it depend on the seat? pics?
thanks

RE: Seats
You want the seat belts to go as horizontal as possible. If you mount them to the floor or to the seat itself, you could wind up with a crushed spine in an accident. You can get what are called Y harnesses that reduce the chance, but I wouldn't recomend it. I've seen people put in a factory style male end to the end of the y harness and plugged it into the rear seat buckle recepticle.
