Default Zero Rust Prep Step

Has anyone used it? I'm stripping and repainting my 1970 Camaro. I'm new to this and i don't have a whole lot of money to spend on it, so i'm looking for the best product with the cheapest price. I want to put a protective coat on the metal before painting, to protect it from future rusting. Will this do the Job or is there a better product out there for me?

I use Zero Rust regularly and I like the fact that it comes in a rattle can. This helps when getting into hards to reach spots. I also like POR15 however, its lights sensitive and should only be used when it will be shielded from sun. The POR15 brushes on and self levels. Good Luck.
